Dylan, another leaker with a reliable track record, reported that the new M1X chip, which will launch in high-end iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro models this year, is an extension of the M1 chip. One analyst even believes that Apple's new MacBooks will feature full HD FaceTime cameras, but only on the Retina Display models.ĭon't expect any new iPads or new iPhone 5S.
Further, the MacBook Pro may sport a slimmer design as well. Expect new Macs to take advantage of Intel's recently released Haswell chips. This may take the form of a new Mac Pro along with revamped MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs. There have also been rumors that Apple will announce refreshed Macs. The next iteration of OS X will be showcased, however, and rumors suggest that it will introduce a number of new features that will make power users happy. There hasn't been much in the way of OS X rumors, which perhaps makes sense given that Apple has reportedly pulled engineers who were working on OS X 10.9 to help shore up iOS 7. Users may not have the ability to stream songs on demand, but it will offer more functionality than Pandora to the extent that users will be able to replay songs if they so choose.

Word on the street is that iRadio will be free to users and, believe it or not, will be completely ad-supported. Reports last week indicated that Apple finally secured deals with the largest record labels and that the company will announce iRadio this Monday. Pandora and Spotify certainly provide a great 1-2 punch for music lovers, but the latest reports from the rumor mill suggest that Apple will be getting into the music streaming business as well. It remains to be seen if that will happen this year, but it's something to keep in mind. Lastly, Tim Cook mentioned during his recent interview at All Things D that Apple in the future may make its APIs more accessible. While iCloud synchronization works well for sharing photos and documents between two iOS devices owned by the same person, the AirDrop feature will allow seamless individual file exchanges between iOS devices belonging to different people. The feature will make it easier than ever to transfer, for example, a photograph or document from one person's iPhone to another person's iPad. AirDrop will work between two iOS devices and potentially between an iOS device and a Mac. Sources say that the AirDrop functionality is currently integrated into the standard iOS share menu. Apple, of course, first introduced AirDrop with OS X Lion and enables users to transfer files between machines without a common Wi- Fi network. Most recently, 9to5Mac also reported that Apple has been testing internal versions of AirDrop for iOS 7. There have also been reports that Apple in iOS 7 will add Flickr and Vimeo integration, similar to how the company enhanced integration with both Facebook and Twitter in recent incarnations of iOS.
