Lastly, Tim Cook mentioned during his recent interview at All Things D that Apple in the future may make its APIs more accessible. While iCloud synchronization works well for sharing photos and documents between two iOS devices owned by the same person, the AirDrop feature will allow seamless individual file exchanges between iOS devices belonging to different people. The feature will make it easier than ever to transfer, for example, a photograph or document from one person's iPhone to another person's iPad. AirDrop will work between two iOS devices and potentially between an iOS device and a Mac. Sources say that the AirDrop functionality is currently integrated into the standard iOS share menu. Apple, of course, first introduced AirDrop with OS X Lion and enables users to transfer files between machines without a common Wi- Fi network. Most recently, 9to5Mac also reported that Apple has been testing internal versions of AirDrop for iOS 7. There have also been reports that Apple in iOS 7 will add Flickr and Vimeo integration, similar to how the company enhanced integration with both Facebook and Twitter in recent incarnations of iOS.

That means we can expect less skeumorphism, but the extent to which it will completely disappear from the OS remains unknown.ĩto5Mac typically has solid sources regarding future iOS releases, and this time around it has relayed that iOS 7 will sport an overall flatter design. This is the first mobile OS release with Scott Forstall out of the picture, and Jony Ive has reportedly lent his design aesthetic to the UI. Of course, what everyone will be anticipating most is what changes Apple has implemented in iOS 7.
